From sad shabby to charming shabby

I’ve been looking for a little piece to try out an interesting yellow paint I’d recently purchased. When I spotted this item on eBay-Kleinanzeigen, I could already imagine how it would turn out. Unfortunately, I didn’t bargain on how much work it would take to get it to a place I was happy to sell. Shabby in this case was not just the exterior but the interior too. Cracks, unfinished surfaces, missing elements. I love that every piece provides me with new challenges and new insights into what works and what doesn’t.

Sadly, the paint was a disappointment. Coverage was poor and the colour not quite the zing I was looking for. After a bit of research, I discovered a new chalk paint developer based in Italy called Fleur. And they had a colour, Yellow Ochre, that was dazzling. It is always a risk buying online but I truly was not disappointed. The end result is gorgeous and I purchased some new hardware to finish it all off.

It’s gone from sad shabby to charming shabby with a bit of an oriental flair. My yellow penchant has been satisfied.
